How Is Depression Treated?

The best practice for treating depression is cognitive-behavioral therapy combined with medication management when warranted. Your therapist will do a thorough intake assessment where you will provide your therapist with your thoughts, feelings, emotions, physical symptoms, family history, history of trauma, and anything else you feel pertinent to confirm your depression diagnosis. Then you will assist in creating an individualized treatment plan with your therapist so you can begin to work on underlying issues or conditions that contribute to your condition.
